Odion Ighalo has ended the year as the highest
goalscorer in England.
On Monday, the Super Eagles striker scored his
14th goal in the English Premier League in a game
Watford lost 2-1 to Tottenham Spur but the goal
confirmed the Nigerian as the most prolific scorer
in England with a total of 30 goals. His leadership
position covers the top four divisions in England.
In the first half, Spurs set up to counter attack and
it paid off in the 17th minute as Erik Lamela side-
footed past Heurelho Gomes in goal for Watford.
And 24 minutes later, Ighalo showed strength and
speed to level in the 41st minute but substitute
Heung-Min Son struck a dramatic late winner to
give Tottenham a 2-1 victory over 10-man Watford
at Vicarage Road.
Watford went a man down on 63 minutes when
Nathan Ake was shown a straight red card for a
high tackle on Lamela.
Despite the loss, the Eagles attacker has now
scored in six straight games and he is now third on
the EPL scorers chat behind Jamie Vardy and
Romelu Lukaku who have 15 goals each to their
names. Lukaku scored a brace in the 4-3 Everton
loss to Stoke also on Monday.
